An Ambivalent Reverie
The third quarter opened doors to learning that went far beyond what I had initially planned. I discovered how to compose a website using html, css, and even javascript. I also learned the importance of verifying information through credible sources, as these sources adds or lessens a study's reliability. Additionally, I gained practical skills in managing deadlines and coordinating tasks like sending drafts to my email for review before publishing, which helped me understand the value of systematic workflow in content creation.
While the progress was rewarding, several challenges tested my focus and adaptability. One of the biggest struggles was balancing creativity, especially when switching between reflective pieces and academic-style blog posts. I also encountered difficulties in sourcing appropriate images that aligned with copyright guidelines, and there were moments when tight deadlines led to rushed work that required multiple revisions. Another challenge was ensuring consistency in tone across different posts – for instance, shifting from nostalgic storytelling about Christmas to a more formal discussion of national history felt awkward at first, and I often found myself second-guessing whether my writing was hitting the right mark.
To tackle these obstacles, I started by breaking down each task into smaller ones – creating a checklist for every blog post that included sections for research, drafting, editing, and media sourcing. In the making of a website, I learned through different platforms in the internet. When it came to images, I learned to use creative commons platforms and take my own photos when possible. To manage deadlines better, I began setting mini-milestones a day or two before the due date, giving myself time to review and polish my drafts thoroughly.
Moving on to the next phase, I will build on the lessons and solutions from this quarter to become more efficient and intentional with my work. I plan to expand my research skills by exploring more sources for upcoming topics. I also intend to learn more about creating a website, especially on css and it's formatting. Most importantly, I will carry forward the habit of proactive planning and careful review, remembering that every challenge is an opportunity to grow – a principle in the Project Management Institute’s Guide to Continuous Improvement in Creative Work (2025).
