Nutrition Month: Awareness Drives Change
Is it not a moral imperative to prioritize our health, not merely for ourselves, but for those who depend on? As the month of July approaches, the month where nutrition is the star of the show. Ilocos Sur brimming with abundance and fertile land, sowing seeds intended for the betterment of our community. To render mindfulness, cultivating resilience and prosperity.
In my participation in this month's celebration, I attended multiple competitions that brings forth awareness and knowledge on Nutrition month. First is the Nutri-Jingle competition. The entire process from preparation to execution was thrilling and fun. We first brainstormed our nutri-jingle piece by focusing on making an impactful yet catchy lyrics. This experience was invigorating and certainly exhilarating, although I must say, the most difficult part was finding the right tune for the made lyrics. When it came to the final performance, I could tell that the others were nervous, although our performance was decent to say the least. We didn't win, nevertheless, it was a fantastic opportunity to engage and compete.
I also competed in the Poster Slogan Making Contest. We started the competition around 9:50 am - 10 am, at ICT Room 2. There were three of us who joined this event. I ended up representing our school in the competition for Poster Slogan Making Contest held at the convention. Even though I did not score the "Champion" title I remain grateful for that granted opportunity. For each door that opened, there stood an avenue for change and a vein for awareness, a generosity meant to be shared, not disregarded nor taken for granted.
Prioritizing the wellness of our being is not just a personal responsibility; it's a moral imperative with major outcomes. During the Nutrition Month Celebration, for each and every activity, contest, or school event, the whole purpose behind it is to bring awareness to all. Food is one of the basic needs for survival, without adequate nutrition, the body is more susceptible to many dauntless illnesses. Moderation is key, it demands both discipline and prudence. We are a walking testament of the things we consume, therefore prioritizing health is a moral obligation. It is an act of love — for ourselves and for everyone whose lives we touch.
